In an old issue of Busan Arts School (Busan School of Art) magazine, Jimin‘s father and a teacher gave an interview about Jimin. His teacher and father played a big role in Jimin becoming a dance genius.
Jimin demonstrated his talent for dancing from a very young age. He was particularly successful in contemporary dance. Still, his teacher didn’t lean towards his dream of becoming an idol at first. In an interview with Jimin’s teacher, he said:
“Yes. Jimin has been very good at contemporary dance since he was admitted to the school. He was also talented in all dance genres. When he expressed that he wanted to go a public dance path rather than just pure dance, I felt like I was losing a genius. I couldn’t help thinking about how success in such studies was not guaranteed. So I was against his decision. I didn’t know he would be successful as it is now. Either way, Jimin was a student who put his best in everything he did.
As for Jimin’s father, he said that since he knew his son’s talent from an early age, he had no choice but to accept and respect his decision. Jimin, according to his father, wrote an article in middle school about where he would like to be in the future. Jimin’s article was very detailed and impressed his dad. Jimin wrote that he wanted to go to Busan Art High School, learn dance, and become famous by combining dance with music. This is Jimin’s dream of becoming an idol.
Jimin was also good at math and science, his father said. His father wanted him to attend science high school, but still respected Jimin’s wishes and dreams. Jimin has always been a mature boy. As a result, he is pleased with this decision as his father discovered Jimin’s talent at a young age.
