(G)I-DLE plans to return with an album in the third half of 2021, with the return of exiled Soojin as a whole group!
If you remember, “school bullying” allegations have become fashionable in the past months, and some Kpop idols were slaughtered as a result of these allegations. Two of the highlights among these were Stray Kids Hyunjin and (G)I-DLE Soojin. Hyunjin rejoined the group as of July 2021, after nearly 100 days of exile, with a hot dance cover with the message that it’s not easy to wipe him out.
Now… I would understand if kpop stars bully someone as of now. But it seems strange to me to exile the artists based on the events that happened back in high school. Soojin explained that perhaps she wasn’t an angel when she was a teenager, but she didn’t do anything that would be too big.
The events that make a fuss don’t sound like serious events when I read it; I just don’t know what to say. According to allegations, she spoke offensively on the phone (it turned out to be a past conversation with her older sister, not herself of the claimant), she took graduation certificate off the desk and hid it (Soojin replied, “am I a maniac”, why would I do such a thing), she claimed Soojin sold her a second-hand stained coat (Soojin replied by saying thay we can’t know that it hasn’t been stained since then after 10 years – “I sold it clean”)… Soojin also wrote six pages of replies to such claims. In my opinion these are just non-isues, nonsense. It was extremely childish stuff, and Soojin’s company, CUBE Entertainment, was also bullshit about the process.
By the way, I don’t know the type of the claimant, it seemed a bit uncanny to me. It’s like you can’t go down a well with her rope. So…
It’s really hard to understand the actions of Koreans. In conclusion, the comeback news of (G)I-DLE, a group which always manages to come up with good songs that never go blank, is very good news. The return of the charismatic Soojin to the group made us even more excited for this album!
