In 2016, BTS performed at the 2016 DMC Festival hosted by TV celebrity Kim Sung Joo.

The incident took place just before BTS‘ “Fire” performance. At the start of the show, the members had to be lowered onto the stage by elevators located below the stage.

Kim Sung Joo was standing on stage just before the performance started and was unaware that the elevators had been lowered. The lowered elevators created huge gaps in the stage. When Kim Sung Joo pulled back slightly, he fell straight into Jungkook’s elevator. After he fell, co-hosts Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and Seohyun looked at the elevator in shock and tried to see if he was okay.

Kim Sung Joo‘s fall could have resulted in serious injuries but Jungkook caught him just in time! Although the incident happened in 2016, Kim Sung Joo did not talk about what happened until he appeared on the TV show Visiting Teacher in 2018. On the show, Kim Sung Joo revealed that he was “right there” when Jungkook fell and saved his life!

Kim Sung Joo said that every time he sees BTS, he remembers what happened that day and every time he sees him, he thanks Jungkook for saving him.❤️❤️

After Kim Sung Joo revealed that Jungkook saved his life that day, some ARMYs noticed that Jungkook had trouble raising his left arm during the “Fire” performance and they guessed that he must have injured his arm while saving his life.

Even though he looked like he was in pain, Jungkook didn’t complain about anything and ARMYs wouldn’t even know he saved someone’s life if Kim Sung Joo hadn’t said anything!
