The successful co-ed group (a group with a mixed configuration featuring both male and female members) KARD released a music video for their GUNSHOT track on August 26, 2020. After two months, Gunshot MV is about to surpass 15 million Youtube views, but we need to admit that the views are not increasing at the rate this masterpiece deserves.
Gunshot is a pretty cool song. Although the songs might not be very similar, Irene and Seulgi‘s “different-sounding vibe” in Monster is also felt in Gunshot, too. I really love this kind of songs. While retro and disco style songs are pouring in from all sides in 2020, I think these two songs have bestow a different, modern-sounding, tense atmosphere.
My humble opinion is not so important, but there is this thing too: Felix from STRAY KIDS (on September 1) stated that “I cannot stop listening to Gunshot, and you should definitely listen“.
Gunshot is like a hidden treasure, really deserving much more than 15 million views in two months!
Unfortunately, the financial situation of the company that KARD is affiliated with is not very strong. Such a group, four of whom are both very talented and “visual”, may risk disbanding and it would be a real loss to us. Moreover, almost all of the works they have done from the past to the present have been spectacular.
On the other hand, I expect ARMY to have more support for KARD . As we are all aware, the expression “BTS paved the way” expressed for BTS is generally not accepted well by the other fandoms. In contrast, KARD is a group that owns the statement “BTS paved the way well” So, they’ve made an iconic expression even more iconic.
All in all, KARD is a glorious band, and GUNSHOT is a very special song. We highly recommend it.
