SM Entertainment aims to collaborate with the American MGM Television Worldwide Group and Digital to create a new K-Pop game show and create the first K-Pop boy group to be established in America. The group is planned to be a sub-unit of NCT such as NCT 127, NCT U, NCT Dream, and be named “ NCT Hollwood “. Male competitors between the ages of 13-25 can participate in the competition.
Although the group is American, the show will be shot in Seoul. The contestants will compete, train in Seoul and be coached by SM Entertainment founder Lee Sooman and several NCT members.
Korea’s major entertainment agencies have begun to take steps to collaborate with American organizations. In the past months, HYBE had formed a strategic cooperation with Universal Music Group to form a new boy band in 2022. The partnership between SM Entertainment and American company MGM, planned to form a US-based K-Pop group, will be the first of its kind.
This show schedule will be one of MGM’s popular shows like NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Shark Tank. The K-Pop effect continues to accelerate in all over the world, especially in America.
