As we know, MIDZYs in general are not very happy with the way JYP Entertainment has managed and promoted ITZY. Do you think ITZY should really leave the company? Former JYP Entertainment idol and veteran star Rain visited ITZY’s YouTube channel Season B and shared his thoughts. Let’s take a look! 🧐
Rain, who has always been an unconditional supporter, was wondering if the ITZY members had any concerns about the release of their new song “LOCO”. Ryujin said: “I feel it’s time for us to find a new color of our own.”
Rain provided some helpful advice regarding Ryujin‘s idea. “I think that little by little change will be more beneficial for you,” he explained. She tried to explain that it could backfire if the members suddenly changed their concept.
But if you come out suddenly like ‘ITZY can do concepts like this, too,’ if it goes wrong, people might think, huh?

To reinforce what he said, Rain gave examples of two of his own songs: “LA Song” and “GANG”. But Chaeryeong also had her own ideas in mind.
Chaeryeong said that when Rain’s first hit track “Bad Guy” was released, she fell in love with the song despite her young age. Also, Chaeryeong stated that the process between “Bad Guy” and the 2010 release “Hip Song” gave her some insight into ITZY’s own career path. “I wondered how he could be so innocent and sexy at this age,” Chaeryeong asked for “Bad Guy”. And he added that “Hip Song” gave him a completely different impression: “You also have a very masculine side.”
The main dancer went on to explain that just as the songs have made a difference for Rain, she thinks ITZY can “maybe make some changes within ourselves.” Rain went on to talk about how he decided to change his career.
In order to make changes, [I decided] I should get out of JYP Entertainment.

Rain left JYP Entertainment in 2007, just five years after his debut. From then on, she went on to become one of the biggest K-Pop soloists in Korea and the world. But, of course, he didn’t say that he 100% recommended this route for ITZY, even though it worked for him.
Lia bewildered, “Do we have no choice but to leave JYP?” she asked. Rain replied quickly. “No, no, don’t do that,” he insisted, “You should be in JYP.”
Rain went on to explain that after leaving JYP Entertainment, getting a job at your own company or a smaller company won’t be easy. As such, he told ITZY he “strongly recommends” they stay with the agency and take advantage of benefits from a well-known company.
It’s definitely a concern to have at this phase, but enjoy it while you’re at it.

While many MIDZYs feel that ITZY could be better promoted than JYP Entertainment‘s current management offers, Rain’s point of view certainly makes a lot of sense as well. What are you thinking?
