The Insights of Behind-The-Scenes of BTS New York City Grand Central “ON” Performance

A new 10-minute video BTS was released on BANGTAN TV on October 26th. Earlier this year (February), BTS traveled to the US for the debut event of their album “ Map of The Soul: 7 ” and performed the debut track “ON” several times at different venues. One of them was the performance of BTS within the New York Grand Central, which was broadcasted on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show that we watched with great pleasure at that time. Grand Central is a station building located in the Manhattan area of New York City. Grand Central Terminal is still the largest train station building in the world in terms of the number of train platforms. We hope you can go and breathe a breath of air and see this magnificent architectural structure in the days without COVID.

Let’s recall watching the BTS ON Grand Central Performance below:

As you remember, as part of the album promotions, the BTS members also shot a footage of their sight-seeing inside the New York subway on Jimmy Fallon Show. They played games with Jimmy Fallon. In the BANGTAN TV video, we see that Jimmy Fallon also hugs BTS members behind the camera with a warm greeting.

Let’s watch behind the scenes of this unforgettable Tonight Show performance. We would be happy if this BANGTAN TV video had been broadcasted in February. Because, as BTS members, while streaming from that show to other show, and to the Grammys, we were very curious about how they were doing in the background, and how excited they were. Currently, the preparations for the new album continue in a similar rush. If we are fortunate, we might have an earlier audience this time. Please Big Hit, hear us!

Let’s continue from where we left off with the Tonight Show background shots above. BTS members arrive at Grand Central after shooting their New York subway travel. The architecture is magnificent with a ceiling of colossal height. The splendor of the building makes BTS members a little stressed out!

They are now starting preparations. Make-up first. Suga must have liked his make-up, look at his complacent gaze:)

Later, we see that the members who are preparing for the Grand Central Terminal performance with Jungkook , Jin and RM share how nervous they are about this. Suga shares how BTS should do a good job, while V expresses that he and his fellow members did their best for this performance. J-Hope says Grand Central Terminal is his home. He looks at the chandelier and laughs saying: “It’s too big, I paid too much”. Hahaha!

Of course, the members, who continue their preparations for the performance shoot, did not stop joking with each other. J-Hope is doing “peek-a-boo” to Jungkook in the dressing room. We also observe portable changing cabinets.

Jin sips Starbucks coffee in her hand while making up. But it caught our attention, it should have written “Jin” on the coffee cup :) He says I feel like a New Yorker going to work in the morning. Jin is a little nervous before the performance. The performance of ON might be the most complicated and challenging choreography BTS has ever done.

Finally, the ecstatic and exhausted BTS members thank the team that accompanied them as they perform their epic performances. Below, Jimin is very tired, breathing hard.

BTS members were very relieved after the shooting, they gave a small speech. They expressed they prepared hard for this performance. They also thanked ARMY!

After shouting “Bangtan, Bangtan” and making the gesture of “we are together a team”, we came to the end of the video. We think they did a very good job.

The coronavirus pandemic disrupted all plans. BTS was unable to perform “ON” in South Korea to ARMYs as they wanted. It was perhaps a world tour only fits a very successful album like Map of The Soul: 7 , but let it be, BTS did their best with the MOTS ON:E concert.
