TWICE members were featured in the program “Showterview With Jessi”. Before the show started, Jessi was caught on camera and walking towards the stage, trying to guess the names of the TWICE girls. Luckily, Jessi didn’t make any mistakes with TWICE members’ names on the show.
Jessi asked the post-intro question: “Who is your leader I wonder?”
Jihyo introduced herself, stating that she is the leader of the group TWICE. Afterwards, she explained how she became the leader of a 9-girl competitive group like TWICE.
Jihyo mentioned that there is a vote among the members during the leader election phase. Nayeon said “We abide by the majority decision”. So there is a democratic situation in TWICE.
The MC next to Jessi asked why Jihyo was chosen as the leader. “Because is she popular or because is she reliable?”
The group members laughed at this question and emphasized that Jihyo is really trustworthy. Jihyo is also the longest-serving TWICE member in the company.
When the MC asked Nayeon “Wasn’t she put in this situation as the eldest in the group?” Nayeon laughed and turned to Jihyo and said “of course not”. Jessi later added her comment that it was actually better not to be a leader, and Nayeon agreed. Instead, Jessi said, “it’s better to be a background leader than a leader.” What a clever idea, isn’t it?
All the members laughed at Jessi’s crazy comment :)
