BTS J-Hope released a new version of the song “Blue Side” with a surprise today. With Blue Side, he shared a sincere message with his fans about connecting to his past: “I know I can’t go back, but I want to embrace my younger self.”

In addition to the release of a new version of his song “Blue Side”, J-Hope sent a sentimental message to fans on his blog.

Exactly three years ago it coincided with the release of the 2018 mixtape “Hope World”.

“Today is March 2. It’s been three years since my Hope World mix tape came to life.

At the time, I thought I had to hurry for everyone to hear my music. So I let creativity take over and do whatever my body wants to do. I remember, I wrote everything that came to my mind as it is.

Now when I listen and look back, I’m a little embarrassed by that. Haha. But I know that the courage and mentality I had back then gave birth to the mixtape Hope World.

Sometimes I miss those times. When I was an innocent child, I would make a series of music about what I had in mind.

And this feeling is probably the reason I decided to complete the Blue Side. I mean, everybody has a moment… longing for the past and a desire to connect with it. I think I’m at that moment now.

Back then I was very naive, very ignorant. And while working on it, I was able to recreate that young do-it-as-I-go version of myself.

I know I can’t go back, but I want to embrace my younger self – so I can embrace my current self. Like the past relieves the present. I need that safe space, I need a blue side where I can cool off and gather my mind, especially when it’s the hottest.

And as time went on, I realized why I couldn’t finish writing this song. It was too early and the message I wanted to convey was too much for me at that time. But I also think that, as fate, one day I will be able to learn the answer.

It may only be one track for now, but I wanted to show you that I have matured in my music. I posted it as a promise that I will continue to create and grow.

I hope you like it. “
