JYP Entertainment released an official apology for the outfits of Dahyun and Chaeyoung in the new Melody Project “Switch To Me” video.

On February 10, Dahyun and Chaeyoung released a cover version and music video of Rain and Park Jin Young‘s “Switch to Me” duet for their latest Melody Project video. Shortly after, BLACKPINK’s stylist Kim Balko posted a screenshot from the video in her Instagram story and added a comment, “Well ?? !! An outfit that was specially designed by me but I didn’t make ?? !!”

This Instagram post of the stylist was discussed on social media and it was emphasized that the stylist made such criticism for the similarities between the hanbok (traditional Korean outfit) worn by Dahyun and Chaeyeong and the hanbok outfits customized for BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” music video.

Following these discussions, on February 11, JYP Entertainment made the following statement and apologized:

Hello, we are JYP Entertainment,

Dahyun and Chaeyoung’s clothes in the Melody Project video were purchased from a hanbok company and we could not fully notice the similarities. We sincerely apologize for this.

We explained the situation and apologize to the designer. We will be even more careful in the future so that such events never happen again.
