Jungkook, as we know, is now a new dog dad! He recently introduced Doberman Jeon Bahm in BTS In The Soop 2 and stole the hearts of ARMYs all over the world.

Dobermans are a highly energetic dog breed known for their tough and graceful appearance. Dobermans have been bred as guard dogs for a long time, which is why Jungkook said of Bahm, “I don’t need a bodyguard. Now I can protect myself while walking.”

At the same time, Dobermans are sweet, affectionate dogs. Although they generally look fierce due to their upright stance and their ears pointing up, they are cute and happy to be with their families.

Jungkook proved in simple ways that he is not like other Doberman owners. He didn’t cut off Bahm’s ears or tail. The not-so-small pup still has the natural traits of a Doberman.

Ear clipping or clipping refers to the process of surgically replacing or completely removing a dog’s ears and taping them to stand upright. This was historically done to make the dog harder to reach and to give them an intimidating appearance to protect their owners.

Nowadays, this process is carried out according to the owner’s preference. It is known to be a painful process for animals due to large portions of their outer ears being amputated, making it illegal in many places, including England and Wales.

Dobermans are also often cut off for aesthetic purposes or to prevent damage to their own tails. However, it can be a painful and sometimes traumatic event for puppies, especially if the surgery is not performed by a trusted veterinarian.

Not surprisingly, Jungkook garnered a lot of praise online for his humane choice.

Jungkook isn’t the only K-Pop idol to have introduced his Doberman puppy to the public recently. BLACKPINK’s Lisa added a dog, a Doberman named Love, to “L Family,” which was originally just a cat. She had also kept her drooping ears and her entire tail.
