Once again it’s time for the monthly group rankings! The Korean Business Research Association has released its girl group rankings for October 2021 based on various big data collected. Here are the top 10 girl groups of the month, in order of 1 to 10.
1. BLACKPINK
The girls took first place with 308,244 social media points, 1,100,672 media points, 1,231,958 contact points and 3,451,167 community points with a total of 6,092,040 points! Compared to September (3,702,433) scores, girls recorded an increase of 64.54%. This was probably due to the fact that they became a popular topic abroad at Paris Fashion Week, as well as Lisa‘s gorgeous solo (LALISA). Well done girls! 🥳 🥳
2. aespa
These girls are really “Next Level” about quickly becoming a top girl group. 😂 Their total score was 3,770,631, an increase of 48.12% compared to the previous month (2,545,718). The girls also recently released their latest comeback, “Savage.”
3. Girls’ Generation
It’s absolutely amazing that Girls’ Generation has remained so popular despite being in the industry for 14 years and growing their group numbers every day. They come in with 3,126,468 points, down 13.2% from last month. However, given that they are not currently active in events as a group, this is still an incredible feat.
4. Red Velvet
Red Velvet is ranked 4th after their comeback with “Queendom”. Joy’s popularity in the media increased her public engagement with Crush significantly. On the other hand, Wendy is on the rise on SNL!
5. STAYC
Monster rookies are doing great, even though they don’t come from a big agency. In fact, their company currently only has 5 employees. What an amazing achievement!
6. TWICE
TWICE has pulled out of the Korean market a bit for now and their US debut is targeting all of our ‘feels‘ with ‘The Feels‘. Maybe this explains why they’ve been falling in the ranking tables for a while. We know they will rise again as soon as they come back to South Korea!
7. Lovelyz
Lovelyz‘s success can be attributed to Mijoo as she is currently active in various entertainment shows including Sixth Sense and Learn Way.
8. OH MY GIRL
OH MY GIRL is applauding for its steady rise in popularity! They have kept their current rankings as music events are currently on hiatus.
9. MAMAMOO
MAMAMOO‘s last comeback was in September with I SAY MAMAMOO: THE BEST.
10. Brave Girls
Brave Girls achieved iconic fame with their hit song “Rollin’“. They are currently taking a hiatus after their summer “Chi Mat Ba Ram” events.
Apink, Weekly, ITZY, and more were also in the top 10, though they weren’t. Top group rankings are judged by the impact these celebrities have on listeners and are often aggregated through clicks, social media mentions, and more. In this round, more than 47,766,752 big data were analyzed and the results were reached.
