Naver is preparing to buy the shares of Big Hit Entertainment. There will be a collaboration between Naver and Big Hit Entertainment on “VLive” and “Weverse”.
Naver is expected to seek synergy between VLive and Weverse and will trade shares with Big Hit Entertainment. The two companies will prefer collaboration over competition between rivals Vlive and Weverse. The two major companies will collaborate in areas such as online concerts due to the unique nature of K-pop.
K-pop platforms are focused on communication between fans and K-pop artists. Big Hit Entertainment’s Weverse platform is on the rise with ARMY’s support. Weverse had 17 million downloads and 1.2 million subscribers by the end of last year. The total number of shipments reached 117 million. Weverse also sells tickets through its online shopping application.
