RBW Entertainment released an official statement, stating that Wheein’s contract will not be renewed, but that Wheein will still be participating in MAMAMOO group activities. RBW Entertainment’s statement on June 11, 2021 reads:
“Hi, we’re RBW.
First of all, we would like to sincerely thank everyone, including MooMoo, both in Korea and abroad for loving and supporting MAMAMOO.
We renewed our contracts with three members of MAMAMOO: Solar, Moonbyul and Hwasa. The contract renewal was based on mutual faith and trust, and we pledged to give them our generous support so that they can achieve their dreams in musical events and in various fields.
MAMAMOO Wheein, like the other members, had in-depth conversations with us for a long time, but eventually decided not to renew her contract. Therefore, we would like to inform you that our exclusive contract with her will be terminated.
We fully respect Wheein’s choice and wish happiness and good luck to Wheein, who has opened a new chapter in her life. Thank you Wheein who has shined with us for the past 7 years.
However, all four members have an unwavering love for MAMAMOO, so Wheein signed an extended agreement to attend some events until December 2023, including albums and concerts. MAMAMOO’s music will continue with the love of their fans, and so will we. We will keep you informed about future activities.
MAMAMOO is currently preparing for their summer concerts. As MooMoo’s best friend, they will show good music and activities separately and together, so please continue to encourage and support them.

It seems that we will continue to see Wheein in MAMAMOO until 2023 if we are lucky.
