According to Dispatch, the decision was made to exempt Baekhyun from active duty due to hypothyroidism. Baekhyun submitted his medical records and statement, which he made last year. According to military decisions, Baekhyun is in the last rung of health ratings due to hypothyroidism. In the case of hypothyroidism, it is decided according to 3 different stages. If the drug was used for more than 6 months, the lowest score was given in terms of health.
Baekhyun has been treated for hypothyroidism for a long time. Baekhyun’s condition is constantly monitored and he takes blood tests once a year. Baekhyun learned the hypothyroid problem for the first time in high school. If this situation gets serious, it causes swelling of his throat and face. Baekhyun used his medication regularly to keep his condition under control.
After 3 weeks of compulsory basic military training, Baekhyun will serve as a social worker. As a civil service representative, he will be allowed to return home after 18:00 each day and report back to the base in the morning.
