Big Hit Entertainment and Naver are seeking cooperation with American Universal Music Group to develop their business in the global market. Universal Music Group hosts the world’s most popular artists such as Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Rihanna.
Previously, Big Hit Entertainment and Naver acquired 49% of digital technology company beNX, a subsidiary of Big Hit Entertainment that oversees the operation of Weverse, and the two companies agreed on a joint venture. It was also reported that Big Hit Entertainment wanted to include Naver’s “V Live” platform on Weverse soon.
It has been reported that beNX will form a partnership with Universal Music Group with the intention of further entering the American market. Universal Music Group artists, including Gracie Abrahams, Young Blood, and New Hope Club, already have their own Weverse channels to connect with their fans.
